The local Fish and Game Club held timed snowmobile races on Monson Pond, Fort Fairfield, Maine. The club cleared the snow from the ice to form a half mile long strip on which the snowmobiles ran. The Fort Fairfield Fire Department and Crown Ambulance Service provided emergency support services. Hundreds of drivers and spectators enjoyed good weather and hot runs with many drivers reaching speeds in excess of 90 mph.
